In this workshop you will learn how to create an 11x14 Jungle Macaw portrait, using some new and helpful color pencil methods that can carry over to other projects. You will be introduced to the techniques of layering, burnishing, and detailing; capturing the illusion of light, shadow and the form on the body; rendering the feathers; how to capture the glass-like quality of the eyes and the features of the face. In addition, you’ll learn many of Mark’s tips and techniques on color pencil strokes, application and blending in color pencil. Throughout the project you’ll find his color pencil selection method of choosing pencils to represent the values of Shadow, Deep shadow, Halftone, Light and Highlight in clear step-by step illustrated instructions.
