You will never find a marine nautilus as colorful as this one!
The exotic beauty of this living fossil is found mainly in the tropical west Pacific Ocean. Related to octopus, cuttlefish and squid, nautiluses are the only cephalopods to have visible shells, which are limited in coloring to a light cream with undulating brown stripes. However this specimen's shell only inhabits the recesses of my imagination. It is as if I had turned its shell inside out, exposing its colorful mother of pearl iridescent interior! An undersea fantasy!
