Duet Dahlia WCP
PRE-PATTERNED PAPER INCLUDED.
“Duet Dahlia” is a vibrant, bicolor floral variety with wine colored petals toward the heart of the bloom against crisp white at the tips. Growing up to three feet tall, their large, double flowers bloom to 6-8 inches wide, blooming in mid-summer. The flower head is actually a composite (hence the older name compositae) with both central disc florets and surrounding ray florets. Each floret is a flower in its own right, but is most often incorrectly described as a petal. The modern name Asteraceae refers to the appearance of a star with surrounding rays. This fun and informative project will advance your essential skills for creating masterful floral pieces in watercolor pencil!
